Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only toll-free, 24-hour, bilingual and anonymous phone and web counselling, referral and information service for children and youth.

Every day, the professional counsellors at Kids Help Phone provide immediate, caring support to young people in urban and rural communities across the country. Kids contact Kids Help Phone about every issue imaginable – from school, dating and family problems, to depression, abuse and suicide. Last year alone, we helped young people in need from almost 3,000 Canadian communities more than 1.5 million times through our phone and online services.

When Canadian kids reach out for help, we are there for them – all day and every day of the year. Kids like the ones who posted the following messages to our “Ask a Counsellor” online service:

“There are these two people in my class and one of them I thought was my friend but she likes to talk about me behind my back and then the other just makes fun of me for no reason.”*

But being there for kids around the clock isn't free. Kids Help Phone relies on corporate and individual supporters, as well as on events like the Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone, to raise the funds necessary to continue to provide this vital service.

When you walked and collected pledges as part of last year’s Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone, you made a big difference in the lives of Canadian kids. The $3 million raised by the 2007 Walk helped us:

• Hire more counsellors to answer more calls and posts. Last year alone, we helped young people more than 1.5 million times by phone and online!
• Ensure that more than 15,000 schools from coast to coast received our materials, informing students about our service.
• Improve our website by adding more information and making it easier for kids to use.
